Photo Series: three nine five three
The family home is an old Australian staple and is built into classic Australian culture. Two-point-two kids and a quarter-acre block, dogs barking at the mailman and kids swinging on the hills hoist. A home is somewhere that you feel comfortable. Somewhere you can make it your own space. We spend money on it, we decorate it and we encompass ourselves with possessions to make a house a home.
“three nine five three” is a personal series about the family home. The title comes from the postcode of my hometown, Leongatha, a small country town in South Gippsland where I was born and raised. I lived in Leongatha from 1996 to 2012 and during those 16 years I lived in many different houses. The houses you see in front of you, is just some of them.
